GOIZPER Press Valve For Progressive Piston Hydraulic Clutch/Brakes

Goizper S. Coop developed a double piston, hydraulically operated clutch and spring applied brake combination. The principal of this design is to eliminate the shock loads associated with high pressure hydraulic systems.

In normal single piston applications, the piston moves from the clutch position to the brake position or brake to clutch, in one single motion. Without a dampening control valve in the system, the piston would slam into either the brake side or clutch side of the unit creating a shock load on the drive train, bearings and gears.

Our Goizper double piston unit eliminates the need for this dampening valve by moving a smaller piston first, followed by a second larger piston within milliseconds. The result is no shock loads.

However, we can not use a standard directional control valve with the double piston unit. Goizper engineers have designed our own valve for press applications.

This valve has built in redundancy for safety on press applications. Besides the double valve configuration, we have incorporated two flow controls for the clutch and brake engagement speeds and an emergency stop that bypasses normal flow routes.

The valve is set up for monitoring through a series of pressure switches and piloted solenoid valves.
